Inspired by my daughter’s name FLORA evolved over the years into a mother-daughter business. For us that fills the mantra ‘do what you love so that you don’t have to work.’ Certainly, our relationship is a special one, and we like to think that working together is not only special for us but provides us with an added insight into making the most magical of wedding and other event flowers. We offer specialty one-of-a-kind weddings, tailored to the client’s taste, style, and personality. We take extensive time on each wedding’s details to ensure that our brides receive the flowers of their dreams on their special day. Concentrating on one wedding per weekend, you will have our undivided attention.

My youth began on a farm in the rolling hills of piedmont Virginia with the the Blue Ridge Mountains as the backdrop of the landscape; the additional indulgence of time spent on the nearby Chesapeake Bay compounded my true alliance with nature, my best friend. The garden and flowers are part of who I am. As a result everything I see and every palette I imagine incorporates my affinity and knowledge of the observed organic natural world.

In college I discovered art history and the development of painting and pigments through the ages which evolved into transposing my understanding of color from the organic environment to decorating interiors of homes and businesses. Moving to Charleston, SC, with its subtropical climate and furthering my study of horticulture, led me full circle to the palettes and textures of the verdant landscape reigniting my passion to garden and floral design. Whatever I am doing, I’d rather be outside making the garden my cup of tea. In fact, much of our materials in our arrangements comes from our garden giving continuity to the organic, flowing harmony of each piece.
